Unfortunately, most educators, burnout is the cruel reality. The course of heavy loads of large class sizes, burnout seems to be an inevitable event in our lives. However, Kent Crockett, author of "The 911 Handbook" offers the following advice and measures to deal effectively with burnout, from a biblical perspective. I would suggest that the application of those principles to your life in order to "keep the fire burning."
"Do not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will collect if not tiring. (Galatians 6:9)
Whether we are planting the seeds of education for a whole semester or a year or more, we must not succumb to burnout. According to Crockett, "When you quit, you lose the crop." He continues: The harvest is the end of the season, but if you close before then, all the work we've done has been in vain. "How would you feel knowing that all the time you've invested in a student was for nothing? Well, it should be, if you can avoid burn out.
How to Prevent Burn-Out
Rest of our work (even God took a rest day)
Reduce the workload.
I know it's much harder than it sounds, but God does expect us to do everything (even if administrators and parents do), the only things that Planned for us. That's why we need to reassess everything we are doing. We ask God what we need to let go (you can think of something?) And what we want to continue to do.
Adjust your schedule.
The secret to endure the race of life is to adjust our calendar, just living one day at a time. How will never be able to control your future if you are having to dominate today? No one has ever flown to win a marathon, nor can.
Fill your spirit.
Usually when a person burns, he or she has tried to live life with its own strength rather than of God. Quit trying to do with your own power and strength. Ask God to fill with her.
Renew your vision.
"Where there is no vision the people perish." (Prov 29:18 KJV) When you renew your vision, you will be motivated by inspiration and not desperation. People without vision will fall out of the race, but people will end with victory.
